Virginia mayor accused of soliciting prostitute at massage parlor
The mayor of a small town in Virginia is accused of soliciting a prostitute who was working at a massage parlor, according to authorities.
The incident involving Front Royal Mayor Hollis Tharpe occured in May of 2018, according to court records.
Mayor Tharpe told NBC in Washington that the situation is “embarassing and the charges are baseless.” He added that the charges were filed only “because I got the mayor title.”
The mayor of the town of 15,000 said the woman who gave him the massage was busted for prostitution six days after his last visit to the parlor, according to NBC.
